Introduction to Programming with Scratch


   

The course will be an introduction to logic thinking and programming for students between the ages of 10 to 13 years old using Scratch, a beginning programming toolkit that enables kids to create games, animated stories, and interactive art in a fun environment. The scratch language uses virtual LEGO-like building blocks to teach logical thinking, as students will explore the use of motion, control, sound, sensing, operators and variables.

Students will need to bring their own laptop computer to class. In addition, students will need to download the free Scratch software version 1.4. at scratch.mit.edu.
